Understanding Rental Income Tax in Spain
If you rent out property in Spain, you must declare the rental income to the Spanish tax authorities. The rules differ depending on whether you're a Spanish tax resident or a non-resident.
For non-residents, rental income is declared using Modelo 210, typically on a quarterly basis. EU/EEA residents can deduct expenses and pay 19% on the net profit, while non-EU residents pay 24% on gross income without expense deductions.
For residents, rental income is included in your annual Modelo 100 declaration. You can deduct a wide range of expenses including mortgage interest, repairs, insurance, and management fees.
